I am Marty Mayfield, welcome to my creation on the web. I have been a photographer for over 30 years right here in Northeastern New Mexico. I began my photo journey in high school photographing the life and times at Clayton high school in the late 70's for the school paper and yearbook.

The Army took me away for a short time in 1979, I returned home in 1983. I've been photographing this wonderful place and its people ever since. I took a photo course through the New York Institute of Photography and completed that shortly after returning to New Mexico from Virginia where I was stationed in the Army.

In my photographs, my hope is that I can capture more than a memory but the lifestyle we have in our rural communities. Whether you live in the foothills, on the prairie or in town, you know what I mean.  It could be your son's football game, your daughter's prom night or even your wedding, whatever the event may be I have the experience to capture it for you.

While I was in high school, I had an advisor that told me to get up there in the way and get the picture. He added that they may be mad at you when you take the picture, but they will love you when they see the photo. I have maintained that philosophy ever since, and because of it I have been able to bring those special photos to parents and grand parents alike. The people in a rural community are unique and have a style all their own, as I take their portrait I try to capture that style that uniqueness that makes them who they are. Often times that means going out to a location and following them as they work or play. If it is in the studio, I try to allow them to be themselves as we talk and let them relax. Portraits are a moment in your life, to show who you are and the person that is you.

Weddings are a very special time for a bride and groom and I believe that pictures of the event are important. I strive to make the photography as pleasant as I can for the wedding couple. I take time to capture the moment so you will have that memory to cherish forever. I believe that it is more important than not to have the photos of the event,  therefore I offer a wide variety of options to fit every budget.
